Christianity is a religion worshipped by Christians around the world. Christians believe in one God and that is Jesus’s teachings. It is the most practiced and worshipped religion in the world. Christians believe in the birth, life death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Jesus was born somewhere around 2 B.C. and 7 B.C. He was born to the Virgin Mary his Mother, through the Holy Spirit. His earthly father was Joseph, who was a carpenter. Jesus was born in a little town called Bethlehem in a stable. It is said that Three Wise men saw this strange star and followed it. The Star of Bethlehem guided the Three Wise Men to the stable where Jesus was born. The Star heralded the birth of the son of God “Jesus.” Once they came to the stable, the Three Kings worshipped Jesus and gave their gifts of Gold, Frankincense, and myrrh. The gift of Gold was meant ‘ For a King’ Incense meant a symbol of a’ God’, while Myrrh was an embalming oil, which meant ‘death’.
Christianity- More about Jesus…
Jesus was Jewish. Not much is known or mentioned of his early childhood, except perhaps, that he grew up in Nazareth in the little town of Bethlehem. When he was about 30 years old he and some of his disciples started teaching and preaching to groups of people who would come and listen to his teachings. He would tell short stories to explain his teaching. The Jesus taught people to love God, to love your neighbor, to forgive people who have done wrong to you, to love your enemies, when they have done wrong to you, to ask God for forgiveness, not be hypocritical, and not judge others.
He healed the sick, and the lepers, healed the blind, and walked on water and raised a man called Lazarus from the dead.
When King Herod heard of the birth of baby Jesus he ordered the Three Wise men to go and search for the baby on the pretext of worshiping him. But this was not the real reason. The real reason behind this was because the King was worried that someone more important and powerful than him would take over his power and kingdom and wanted the baby Jesus killed. The Three Wise men after seeing and worshipping the baby Jesus took a different route back home instead of going back and reporting to King Herod. At this time King Herod gave orders that all baby Jews should be killed.

In later years Jesus was captured by Roman soldiers, an order given by King Herod. Jesus was forced to carry a heavy wooden cross a long way to a place called Golgotha also known as the Calvary, on a hilltop which was about 6000 meters in height. Here he was nailed to the cross and crucified along with two of his disciples. This spot where he was crucified, is now a place of worship for pilgrims as is the tomb where he was resurrected.
His body was laid in a tomb and a huge boulder was put on top of the tomb. On the third day, it is said that this heavy boulder was moved and Jesus rose and was resurrected once again like Christ, the living Savior in heaven.
