Hairstyles for Women Who Train Regularly

If you work out on a daily basis, you are probably aware of the fact that looking good while training is not something that can be easily pulled off. Your clothes get sweaty, your face turns red and your hair gets all messed up.

Although there is not much you can do about the first two things, getting your hair under control and making it look nice and tidy even when you are doing those high-intensity moves is not that hard.

In fact, there are some amazing hairstyles perfect for women who love to exercise. Who says you can’t look cute from the beginning of your workout to the end? Here is a list of hairstyles you should definitely try out.

Braided Bun

When your training consists of a lot of cardio, keeping your hair in one place is not that easy. Of course, there is always the old, reliable ponytail, but sometimes you just need to spice things up a little bit. If you are tired of the ponytail hairstyle while running, a braided bun is perfect for you.

Don’t be fooled, this hairstyle is not your typical bun. The braided kind is more stable and will help you look amazing in and out of the gym. So, start by tying a high ponytail, then divide it into three sections and just braid it. When you have made a nice, big braid go ahead and pull it out so it gets more volume.

Then, wrap it around the base of your ponytail and tuck the end of the braid under the bun. Secure it with pins so it doesn’t fall apart and you are done.

Keep in mind that the more hair you have, the more pins you will need, especially if during your workout you make a lot of sudden movements with your head.

French Braid Ponytail

The last thing you want during a hard workout is to constantly deal with hair in your face. This is why French braid ponytail is one of the best styles for active ladies.

However, it is not easy to do, so make sure you practice before you decide to rock this hairstyle at the gym. First thing you will need to do is prep your hair by applying a texturizing spray by spraying from roots to the ends of your hair.

Naturally, when your hair has more texture, your braids will look fuller. Grab a tooth comb and divide your hair into four sections –top section, side sections, and back section. Flip your head upside down and braid the back section from your neck up, until you get to the top (where your ponytail will be) and secure it with an elastic for now.

Afterward, braid side sections and end each one in the back where you tied off your first elastic. The only thing you have left to do is to braid the top section and tie all of the braids together with one big elastic. Use the scissors to cut other smaller ties you used to secure those three braids.

When your hairstyle is done, you should use your fingers to loosen up the braids and make them a little bit messier for a softer look. Messy hairstyles are actually perfect for heavy workouts since no matter what you do, they always look just as they should- messy.

Headband Braid

If you have shorter hair and you cannot tie a ponytail even if your life depended on it, don’t worry. A headband braid is such an adorable style, it is easy to do and will keep your bangs from falling in your face.

Keep in mind that you will be able to make this braid more easily if your scalp isn’t squeaky clean. Therefore, for the best result, try it one or two days after you’ve washed your hair.  Section your hair from ear to ear, pull the back section away and secure it with a clip or an elastic tie.

To turn the top section into your braided headband take a section of hair from behind one ear, whichever you prefer, and separate it into three strands. Start braiding it like a usual three-strand braid, adding in strands as you go along.

When you have reached the end on the other side of your face, secure your headband braid with a clear elastic and a couple of bobby pins. Pull the braid apart using your fingers for the added texture.

When your braid is finished, you can basically do whatever you want with the rest of your hair. Whether you will tie a low ponytail or add in some waves it’s completely up to you. One this is certain, you will look amazing during your workout no matter what you do.

French Braid Pigtails

If you have a Cross Fit class and afterward you are going out to the club with your friends, this badass hairstyle will have you covered for both events. To make these double French braids part your hair down the center, like you are making pigtails and then begin French braiding one side of your hair from the top.

Once you have reached your neck, braid down the rest of your hair the usual way. Secure the end of your braid with an elastic tie and then repeat the same thing on the opposite side.

This hairstyle will not only survive your workout but a hot shower as well, so you will need only a couple of minutes to put on your makeup and some statement earrings, and you will be ready to paint the town red.

There is so many cute hairstyles ideal for women who love a good workout, so don’t be afraid to experiment a little bit and find those that suit you perfectly.
