Making Dental Care Accessible – Labor of Love Day by Risas Dental & Braces

Individuals across the globe place great focus on physical and mental health. Most people try their best to incorporate some degree of physical activity into their lives, and awareness of mental health needs has never been greater. However, dental care and oral hygiene, equally as vital, often go ignored.

For anyone who wishes to enjoy a healthy lifestyle, there is a need to focus on their oral health and hygiene along with their physical fitness. Physical, mental, and oral health are the three critical elements of healthy living.

Neglecting any of these three elements will lead to deteriorating health. People can never address their health goals without addressing dental problems. Accumulation of plaque, cavities, and tooth decay might seem like a minor problem, but these can expose a mouth to severe periodontal diseases.

Therefore, while scheduling timely visits to a general physician, people must pay to visit a dentist at least once a year.

There are people who do realize their oral health is important but avoid visiting a dentist regardless. There is often one big reason behind it, and that is the high cost of dental care. No matter which part of the world one resides in, dental care is expensive.

The prices of dental treatments and surgeries are so high that many insurance companies do not offer coverage for it. The healthcare insurance policies that do provide coverage for dental procedures and checkups are costlier than policies that do not offer the particular coverage.

Many people postpone their visit to a dentist just because they do not have the money to pay for it. Fortunately, there is a Phoenix-based dental clinic, Risas Dental & Braces, that is making dental care accessible to all. Risas was founded by Dr. Nicolas Porter in the year 2011 with a clinic in Phoenix, Arizona.

Today, 25 clinics come under the Risas Dental & Braces brand and are spread across Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, and Texas. Every year on Labor Day, the company provides free of cost dental services to all its patients. The event is given a name, “Labor of Love Day,” and offers free-of-cost services for thousands of patients.

Labor of Love Day – Going an Extra Mile for Every Smile

Dr. Nicolas Porter understands how difficult it is for people to pay for dental care. To make lives easy and spread smiles across his community, every year at Labor Day, he holds Labor of Love Day at Risas Dental & Braces. The primary purpose of this event is to make dental services available to everyone, especially to those who cannot afford dental treatments and checkups. Experts recommend paying a visit to a dentist at least once every year. Risas Clinic offers free services one day every year, which eliminates the need for people to pay for a dental checkup from their own pocket.

Labor of Love Day is a tradition of Risas Clinic, and it has been taking place since 2011. The first office became operational on September 3, 2011, the Saturday before Labor Day. After setting up the first office in Phoenix, they started operating on Labor Day and provided free service to all the patients that arrived. They continue the tradition every Labor Day since. The first hundred patients receive free-of-cost dental services. The event begins at 08:00 a.m. and ends at noon.

In the year 2018, the company provided free dental care to 2200 patients across all its locations and gave away a half-million dollars in free services. Since the year the company was set up till today, the company has given away more than five million dollars in free service. There are countless people that are in need of dental care, but the high costs deprive them of their fundamental rights. Risas Clinic aims to make its services accessible to all such people. It is a charitable company that spreads happiness across as many people in the community as possible.

The primary aim of the company is to provide top-quality dental services to patients at the best possible rates. Dr. Nicolas Porter states, “Most people say you either give great price or great service, we say no, we’re gonna do both. We’re gonna give great service and great prices. The public loves it.” Risas Dental & Braces is making extra efforts to make dental care easily accessible, and it is getting noticed.  The Phoenix Business Journal recognized it and awarded its founder the 2014 Health Care Hero award. Moreover, he was also named as the most admired leader of 2015.
