Salt oftentimes doesn’t get the attention it deserves.  Most people only recognize salt as that mineral we sprinkle on our foods to make them taste more flavorful, but salt actually provides a great number of health benefits when used correctly.

Himalayan Pink Salt has recently become a hot topic because it is thought to be one of the purest salts available today.  Not only does it taste better than regular salt, it does everything, from balancing your pH to strengthening your bones and lowering your blood pressure.

The best part about all of this is that you don’t even have to eat the salt to gain these benefits.  Simply having the salt around you has been seen as helpful when treating things like allergies, insomnia, and even migraines.

Hold up. Before you start sprinkling Pink Himalayan Salt around your home, consider a better way.  The much more elegant, and less messy, solution is in the form of a lamp.

G.S. Rahi, associate professor of Physical Science at Fayetteville State University, says that “all living systems (including human beings) are bio-electric in nature, [meaning that] electrically charged particles affect the way we feel and act.”

Rahi has confirmed that placing salt lamps around your home can work wonders, reducing the amount of unhealthy positive ions that occupy your home space.  There are other sources that support the salt lamp as well, claiming that they increase energy levels and concentration; meaning you’ll want to keep a few of them in the bedroom and office.

Some lamps are lit by candles and others use low wattage bulbs.  And the Himalayan pink salt reserves are estimated to last another 350 years, given the current rate of mining.  So, instead of buying a traditional new lamp for your end table, maybe try out a salt lamp and see what you’re missing out on.
