Which Streaming Service should you opt-in?

So, are you planning to get a premium subscription of a streaming service online but are confused about which one should you opt-in? Well, it’s not practical to get a subscription of every single streaming service, though you can do that, I won’t recommend it. That’s why I am writing this article where I am going to debunk all the popular streaming services so that you can choose the best one for you.

Choosing the right streaming service could be a tricky task. So, you have to make sure that the streaming service you’re going to sign up is offering the content you want to watch. To make it a little easier for you, here is my review of all the major streaming services of 2019-20.

Hulu

Hulu is a pretty common name that comes to our mind when we think about video streaming services. It offers a vast library of video streaming content. Though it concentrated mainly on the TV shows since its inception, it has upped its game on movies too. The Hulu Live TV feature is just excellent, and the service is available on all the devices. It also gives a DVR feature that could be used to record live shows.

But like other streaming services, Hulu has its downsides too. The very first drawback is that it doesn’t come with an offline feature, which means you can’t make a video for offline use. Even if you acquire Hulu’s basic plan, you’ll have to contend with ads. To avoid these commercials, you have to go for a bigger plan, which is unacceptable. Also, though they’ve done a great job in movies, still the selection of movies isn’t the best. You can use it mainly for TV shows but for movies, and I don’t think it is a good option. Also, it is only available for Japan and the US alone, which is another drawback for our international readers.

Netflix

Netflix is one of the most popular streaming services that allows you to watch popular TV shows, movies, documentaries, and many other things. Also, you can use it on almost all kinds of digital devices. Unlike Hulu, Netflix doesn’t come with ad commercials, and it also allows you to make videos offline. It also offers a vast collection of all kinds of movies, TV series, and even Netflix’s original content as well, which is a big plus.

Even after offering a massive library of content to choose from, the content seems a bit outdated. It’s because you have to wait for some time after the premiere of the show to get access to it even though the previous seasons of the show are streaming on Netflix already. The same goes for movies as well. Also, Netflix provides content according to geo-location, which means there is a slight chance that you’ll miss some content that the other one has access to. It all depends on the censorship and the policies of your country. But if you have a VPN, you can access to all. Check out the Best VPN for streaming

Amazon Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video is one of the best video streaming services offered by the shopping giant Amazon. It is my personal favorite due to its amazing perks like free one day and 2-day delivery, access to unlimited songs, ebooks, and many more. To know Amazon prime all benefits, you can read this blog post by UpdateLand

Amazon offers a 30-day free trial. Is it not cool? You can enjoy all benefits and video streaming servers for 30 days without paying a single penny. And then decide is it worth to buy or not.

HBO Now

HBO now is a top-rated streaming service, and all credit goes to popular shows like Game of Thrones, Watchmen, Big little lies, The wire, and many others. Because of that, I can say in terms of the content curation and quality, HBO is leading the list of streaming services. Also, it is available for most of the digital devices, and you can use your single account to stream on multiple devices simultaneously. It means a separate account will be enough for all your family. Also, HBO Now allows you to access the exclusive content without waiting. That makes it a much better contender of best streaming services.

But it also has some drawbacks. The very first one is its pricing. It cost $14.99/month, which is a bit costly than other streaming services in the market. Though it offers great content, the overall content it provides is shallow comparing other streaming services because you can only get HBO content. Nothing else. Also, the service of HBO Now is only available for people living in America, which is a big drawback.

Verdict

These were some of the most popular streaming services across the world. Now which one you should subscribe depends on what you’re looking in a streaming service.

If you’re looking for a streaming service for primarily watching movies, then Amazon Prime Videos is the best option you’ve got. Because when it comes to movies, Hulu, and Netflix, both struggle a lot. Amazon Prime also got some awesome “Prime Original” shows.

Similarly, if you want to watch Network TV and Reality TV shows, then Hulu is the best streaming service for you. But either you have to deal with ads or upgrade for a bigger plan. In that case, it becomes very costly.

If you’re looking for excellent streaming content, mostly TV series, then HBO Now is a great option. But the limited content and pricing can become a deal-breaker here.

While Netflix maintains a good balance between quality series, original content, and movies, but usually takes extra time to stream shows.

In the end, it’s on you which streaming service fulfills your needs.
